Is it the right time for you to think about blepharoplasty?

An eyelid surgery, in medical terms known as blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure performed to remove undesirable lines and wrinkles that appear after a certain age. Are you the one whose appearance has affected due to aging signs and symptoms? Well, if your answer is yes, then blepharoplasty can really help you in slowing down the aging process.

A consultation with an expert surgeon is a must to know about this surgery. If you have wrinkles below your eyes, then lower eyelid surgery is the best option that you can go for.

Identifying reason

Some people go for this surgery to get rid of excessive fats that accumulate on the area around the eyes after a certain age. There are also people who undergo blepharoplasty to get rid of loose skin, lines, wrinkles and bagginess that appear above and below eyes.

Preparing for surgery

An expert surgeon will make you familiar with factors associated with blepharoplasty surgical procedure. The surgeon will also ask you to not to take certain medicines before your surgery. You must avoid taking medicines like aspirin. However, people who smoke need to quit smoking a few days before going for this surgery.

Apart from this, it is important for you to discuss your previous medical history with the surgeon. You need to tell your doctor about health issues that you have experienced in the past. Your previous health conditions may affect the results that you are expecting after undergoing Blepharoplasty.

Procedure

The surgeon will place you under anesthesia to make an incision. To correct deformities associated with lower eyelid, the surgeon will make an incision below your lash line. With the help of these incisions, the surgeon will take out extra fat and tighten the loose skin.

Recovery

After performing the surgery, the surgeon will ask you to follow certain instructions in order to recover fully in a short period of time. Pain and swelling are quite common after this procedure, but these conditions are temporary and go away in a short period of time.

Furthermore, you need to avoid exercising, cycling or stressful activities for a few days as these activities may increase your pain and swelling.

Therefore, if you are the one who want to get rid of aging signs and symptoms, then you must find a reputed cosmetic surgeon to bring a drastic difference in your overall personality.

Blepharoplasty surgical procedure is good for both aesthetic as well as functional reasons as this surgery will not only make you look beautiful but also corrects deformities associated with eyes and eye lids.

Get over the statement-“I’m tired of people telling me, I have droopy eyelids”

In parties people generally have the habit of looking into each other and pin-pointing them on their dress, looks and face. The most common thing about, which people talk about, is the face. This is something, which annoys a person especially when all have same statements to make “you growing old and it can be easily noticed from your droopy eyelids”. Such a terrible feeling is it when all pass-on some bad comments right on your face!

So, if you are also one of them facing dropping eyelid (ptosis) and feeling neglected from the society then you need to go for blepharoplasty surgical procedure in NYC. Confused what is it? Then let me put your glance on the term 'blepharoplasty and on its procedure'.

What is blepharoplasty? Also known as eyelid surgery; it is a surgical procedure, which is used to remove the excessive skin and muscle on the upper and lower eyelid of the patient. However it depends on one’s condition and particular needs but it is very helpful in removing the droopy eyelids and bagginess of the eyes.

Procedure:
Before starting with the procedure, surgeon would give anesthesia to the patient, which would make him/her unconscious and won't let them feel the pain of the surgical procedure being undertaken. Once anesthesia is given comes the procedure of actual operation. During the procedure, the surgeon would make incisions on the patient's eyelids (whether upper or lower or both eyelids, depending on the discussion made between the patient and the surgeon before the treatment). The incision for upper eyelids is made in the creases of upper lids and for lower eyelids incision is made just below the lashes.

Besides the changes made in upper and lower eyelids, plastic surgeon would also extend incision to the laugh lines at the corner of the patient’s eyes, so as to reduce the appearance.

Once the incisions are made, surgeon would separate the skin from the tissues and remove the excessive fat in and around the eyes. Later when fat is being removed from the eyes, the surgeon would close the incisions using fine sutures.

However there are situations where a patient has fat under their eyes but do not have sagging skin, in that cases a different eyelid lift is done in New York, known as a "transconjunctival blepharoplasty”. This is basically performed on younger patients who have elastic skin and incisions are made inside the lower eyelid, since only fat is needed to be removed.
